Lāhainā, then known as the "Venice of the Pacific", was the capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom between the years 1802-1845. Travelers from around the globe voyaged to and through Lāhainā. This digital collection showcases the coins exchanged for commodities (primarily those of the whaling trade).
